This version of in-dash GPS navigation device improves upon the performance and mapping capabilities from this popular range. The inbuilt memory holds all of your maps and thereby gives instant access to destinations and the large clear screen displays your route in full colour and highlights the direction you are taking as you travel. You can choose 3D maps that help with orientation and show bridges, nearby high buildings or landmarks and apart from looking really cool they re-assure you that you are on the right road.

This model comes with over 12 million pre-installed Points of Interest (POI’s). Useful services such as gas stations, bank machines, coffee shops and restaurants are all listed on the screen– choose what you need and it will display the nearest location, a great feature when you are travelling in a strange district and need a coffee or toilet break. Brand names and independent suppliers all appear for you to review and by simply touching the screen you will be re-directed. DVD’s will play smoothly and you will have access to chapter headings etc. just as you do on your home player. Voice instructions and directions from the GPS system will override the video and allow you to either pause the DVD whilst you review your map or you just touch the screen for a map display to appear without pausing the film or music.

The voice recognition will control your i-Pod playlist, you only need to say the track or genre aloud and the unit will automatically search for your choice and then begin to play via your car stereo speakers. Voice recognition also allows you to make calls on your Bluetooth cell phone using hands free technology to keep you safe and legal whilst driving. So even if you have left your phone on the back seat or in your coat pocket, as long as the Bluetooth is turned on, you will be able to answer and make your calls. The unit is clever enough to be able to understand your instructions even if there is background noise but will ask you for clarification when necessary.
