The large screen makes the picture viewer feature on this device absolutely amazing and very easy to read in any light, direct sunlight or darkness. It also includes world travel clock, currency converter, measurement converter, and calculator making simple tasks a breeze, because after all not everyone is mathematically inclined and makes money conversion in different areas a snap.
This product also features Garmin Lock a fantastic anti theft device. This product makes a casual road tripper and business person smart and savvy with the extra feature, preloaded City Navigator for North America NT, giving detailed directions for in city driving. The Garmin 250 is slim and easy to transport making its built in high sensitivity WAAS-enabled receiver with extreme accuracy a GPS unit must. It is equipped with an SD card slot for storing media and extra navigational tools and also has an USB interface for loading data on to the GPS. Garmin Lock anti theft system is included in with everything else this little GPS has to offer. This system disables the unit until the user or owner punches in a four digit security pin to unlock the unit or the user must take the device to a predetermined safe location to have it enabled once again.
The rechargeable lithium battery last up to five hours of use depending on the type of use it is receiving, but that is a total of five hours max. This GPS is highly efficient coming with preloaded with maps of North America, so all you need to do is touch the nice and large, color screen to enter your destination and with 3D and 2D technology for your maps (meaning 3D view and 2D overhead view) and turn by turn voice directions you will be right where you want to be in no time without having to worry about getting lost along the way.
The Garmin’s USB interface allows you to upload updated maps which can be bought on Amazon.com for very reasonable prices and or photos to share with those family members out of town. It also has optional SD cards that are Garmin unique on Amazon.com travel guides and savers guide to help you find great attractions along the way and take part in great discounts and deals as well. This makes traveling affordable and easy. Do note though, that the USB storage device like most other mass USB devices does not work with Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows ME.
Do not worry about the 250 being an entry level travel assistant this personal GPS’s maps will cover the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico which is basically all of North America. This device is perfect for everyday use and huge point of interest database for hotels, schools, restaurants, gas stations and more so you can fit your GPS system to your own unique personality and travel needs.
